Granular synthesis deconstructs audio into tiny grains, which are re-pitched, re-panned, stretched, and rearranged to create entirely new textures. This powerful technique lets you craft lush atmospheres, glitchy rhythms, and evolving soundscapes with precision, offering endless creative possibilities. Grainferno offers powerful control over a wide variety of granular parameters.
Grainferno offers a completely novel approach to granular synthesis: "tonal" granular synthesis. Create arbitrarily small grains, with grain rates implicitly linked to the note being played. So, with grainferno, you create traditional granular sounds, and physical modelling-esque tones, and anything in between. difficult to explain, easy to hear. Implemented in low-level C++ for maximum efficiency.
Grainferno's modulation system sits a level above the grain engine. Easily link any knob to any modulation via drag and drop, adjust modulation amounts, and manage and remove modulations, all from the main gui. Modulation sources include: 3 evelopes, 3 drawable lfos, 3 randomness controls, and many more. All modulation work on a "per-grain" basis.
